New left fairing installed

My left fairing has been cracked since I bought the bike. I found a fairing on eBay some time ago and bought it for $250 which is quite a high price. I originally thought that the paint did not match my mine so I was holding off on installing it until I could get the bike painted. I decided to take a closer look. I rolled the bike out into the sun and compared the paint. I could not tell the difference! I asked a neighbor to see if he could tell the difference and he said "it looks exactly the same". It is a perfect match. I went ahead and installed the fairing. It will save me a lot of money not having to paint the bike.

Fort Clinch Ride

After taking so many trips south on A1A, I decided to head north. I scoped a map and saw a nice path up to Fort Clinch on A1A North. I headed out for the day and early in the ride I went over the amazing Dames Point Bridge. It is very high over the water and freaked me out a little bit to be honest. It was another chamber of commerce type of day and a great ride. I stopped at a little restaurant called Nicole's and had some great fried chicken. The only problem is that some of A1A is 35MPH along Fernandina Beach. I am not a speeder but I would like to go a little faster. A relaxing day and a good ride.

A long way down SR13

I headed out today with the intent of doing a SR13 - SR16 - US1 loop but when I got to SR16 I decided to just keep going south on SR13. It was a nice payoff. SR13 follows the east bank of the St. John's river south. It was a beautiful day and perfect temperature for riding with a jacket. I got all the way down to Hastings and decided to turn around and come back. I stopped at at Riverdale park and found a nice public dock. A great ride on a great day.

Homologation plate reinstalled

I finally found the small rivets needed to reinstall my homlogation plate (the numbered plate on my triple clamp). I got them off of eBay and in case you need any thy are #2 u-drive screws that are 3/16" long. The smallest parts are hardest to find.

I decided to take longer and longer rides each time I go out on my bike. I thought a trip to Daytona made sense. I took US1 to St. Augustine and then picked up A1A and took that all the way down to Daytona. It was a beautiful ride and sections of A1A are right on the beach. One small snag is that the ocean mist gunks up your visor. I will be sure to bring some faceshield cleaner next time. A great relaxing day overall.

Fenders restored

My bike is slowly being transformed into a thing of beauty. After many coats of clear and a lot wet sanding I finally got the carbon fiber fenders refinished.

Front fender - looks great now.

Rear fender restored.

Before refinishing - any hope?
